Purchasing from ProOwned Cycling

Now I love finding a bargain, I mean who doesn't, and in the world of technology which we live today more and more bargains are found and bought online. Although we love bargains I think I can speak for everyone when I say we can be dubious when we shop with a new company.

Now I am a pretty particular cyclist, I have specific preferences that I like on my bike one of these being handlebar tape. It makes sense when you think about it, an element of the bike that we are in contact with for long periods of time so why not make it as comfortable as possible, right? Anyway my favourite bar tape comes from Fizik, their dual touch superlight bar tape, but I recently found they have stopped selling this so was wanting to get a good deal on one last reel before they sold out. Being a student, when I found large online retailers were selling it for two weeks food money I started contemplating how much it actually mattered as I didn't want the old school term of 'chewing your handlebars' to become my reality. Anyway having had a good look online I stumbled across Proownedcycling.com, a website that takes the last season pro equipment and sells it on to the general public. Now I had to double check the price at first when they bar tape came in at a third of the price of what other were selling it for, so I near enough snatched their hands off for it.

Before doing that though I thought it be best that I do my research on the company and check they were legit. Having a look on social media and their website and Ebay store they came across extremely professional and helpful, stocking a huge range of items from Pro bikes and frames as well as unused clothing and componentry. Started by what seems to be a great bunch of guys who work extremely hard, I decided this was a company I not only trusted but believed in what they are wanting to achieve, to limit the amount of waste from the pro field.

Placing the order. Now this can be quite a hassle on some sites, having to fill out endless boxes of information taking up quite a lot of time. This however is not the ProOwned way, the payment process was a breeze, like many sites the initial signing up for an account helps for future orders, but form this point I had no issues. From the minute I placed my order I had an email and confirmation of my order and within a few hours confirmation that it was on its way to me.

Now being delivered from Denmark I was expecting over a week for delivery but my order was delivered in 4 days, you struggle to get that when purchasing from the UK! The joy continued when the item arrived, without the seal broken, no damage to packaging or the item and 100% as ProOwned said it would be. They even through in an Andy Schleck key ring, yes a few years old but back in the Schleck days Andy was always my favourite rider for his style on the bike and his passion to ride and race his socks off. It's little things like this that make you feel like a valued customer and makes you want to purchase from them again.

Now you may be reading this thinking 'what are the negatives', and from my experience the only thing I could point out, and this really is me being picky, is the price of postage to the UK. At 8 Euro for postage I did thing this was steep but in an other wise faultless order process, and the key ring, I do think this site is incredible and 100% would recommend it to anyone reading this.

Be sure to check back in with the blog to look at any product reviews I do for items purchased through the great people at ProOwned Cycling.

If you've had any experience with them or any sites like this let me know below, can never know too many sites to find a good deal!

Until next time, Ciao!!
